Where has my password gone

greetings to everyone ..
I recently have to change the mail server computer with powerful one. And everything is working fine.
I just have a question. I used to have a password for jana administration. I copied jana.ini and all the mail folders and the mail server is working fine. But there is no password in jana administration page... yes i can re create one.. but just curious ... Where has my old password gone while migrating ??? which file should i copy so that it copies the old password as well....

janafolder\admin\admin\ contains two files,
.htaccess and .htpasswd

In case of a forgotton adminpassword you have to delete this files and log into janaadmin free, to create a new one.
This can be only done with physikal access to janafolder.
